The Puerto Rico Islanders won their first match in the 2010 SuperCopa DirectTV as they defeated 3-0 the Aguada’s PR United at a very muddy Central American Stadium in Mayagüez.
The three goals were scored by Osei Teleford (18′), 2nd half substitute Kevon Villarroel (85′) and Anthony Allison (90′+2). It was Allison’s 2nd goal of the tournament.
On the 4′, after a defensive error by Nigel Henry, Aguada’s Joshua Rodríguez took a shot at goal, brilliantly saved by Islanders goalkeeper Cody Laurendi. Noah Delgado had a shot hit the post on the 34′.
The Islanders will play Caguas Huracane next, no Thursday November 11th.
With the win the Islanders take the lead of Group B with 4 points, followed by PR United with 3 points, both teams with 2 games played. Third place is Sevilla Juncos with 1 point and Caguas Huracan is last without any points, after one match for each team.
