2009 USL-1 “Normalized” Standings – Week #6

By: BoriQa | May 30th, 2009

The Puerto Rico Islanders lost a great opportunity to take the lead in the week-6 “normal” standings as they settled for a 1-1 draw with the Portland Timbers at Juan Ramón Loubriel stadium. Only 2 points separate the Islanders, in 6th place with 9 points, from the league leading Vancouver Whitecaps with 11 points.

The Whitecaps won their 3rd game game of the season to take the lead away (with 11 points) from last week’s leaders Rochester and Carolina (tied with 10 points) who both lost this “normal” week.

In other “normal” week-6 action, the Montreal Impact won their first game of the year, Charleston tied their game, while the rest of the field lost their games this week (Minnesota, Miami, Cleveland and Austin).

With 2 wins and 4 ties, Charleston still remains undefeated this season.
