2009 USL-1 “Normalized” Standings – Week #12

Big win for the Puerto Rico Islanders in week-12 “normal” action as they trounced their opponent 4-1 in front of a 4,000 home crowd! The Islanders (19 pts) climb a spot back to 4th place in the “normal” standings this week, 5 points behind the league leading Charleston Battery (24 points) who tied their game this week.
The Carolina Railhawks suffered an embarrasing loss this week, that dropped them into a 2nd place tie (23 pts) with the Portland Timbers who trounced their opponent 5-1 this week. The Railhawks had been in the top of the standings (alone or tied) for 10 of the first 11 “normal” USL weeks this season.
The Vancouver Whitecaps and Austin Aztex both had draws in their respective games this week; while the Rochester Rhinos, Miami FC, Montreal Impact, Minnesota Thunder and Cleveland City Stars were all losers this week.
Charleston Battery remains undefeated this season with 6 wins and 6 ties, and face the Islanders twice in Puerto Rio in the next two “normal” weeks.
