2009 USL-1 “Normalized” Standings – Week #8

The Puerto Rico Islanders lost in week-8 “normal” action, their 2nd loss in a row, and the 3rd in the last 4 four games. The Islanders (9 pts) are still in 6th place in the “normal” standings tied with the Austin Aztex who also lost this week. Both teams remain 7 points behind the league leading Battery and Railhawks who are tied on the top with 16 points.

The Charleston Battery defeated Rochester 2-0 this week. The Carolina Railhawks also won this week to keep pace with the Battery on the top spot of the standings.

In other “normal” week-8 action, the Vancouver Whitecaps fell 2-0 to the Portland Timbers; while the Montreal Impact, the Miami FC, the Cleveland City Stars and the Minnesota Thunder all lost their respective games this week.

Now with 4 wins and 4 ties, Charleston still remains undefeated in the season, while Minnesota is still winless in 8 games this year.
