

2009 USL-1 “Normalized” Standings – Week #7

The Puerto Rico Islanders lost in week-7 “normal” action, as they lost to Portland for the first time ever at Juan Ramón Loubriel stadium 2-1 to the Timbers. The Islanders now hold a 3-2-1 [W-T-L] record against the Timbers in Bayamón.
The Islanders (9 pts) dropped to 7th place in the “normal” standings, 4 points behind Rochester. The Rhinos defeated the Vancouver Whitecaps 2-1, to take away the lead from the Canadians (11 pts) who dropped to 5th place this week. Both the Carolina Railhawks and the Charleston Battery won their respective games this week, to tie the Rhinos on the top with 13 points.
In other “normal” week-7 action, both the Montreal Impact and the Austin Aztex got their respective 2nd wins of the year, Miami hosted Minnesota and played the Thunder to a scoreless draw, and the Cleveland City Stars lost their 5th of the year.
Now with 3 wins and 4 ties, Charleston still remains undefeated in the season. Minnesota is still winless in the year.
