Week 1# of the Preliminary Round of the CONCACAF Champions League is completed, and there were some interesting results…
The most important result (to this blog anyway) was the Islanders 1-0 away win over the MLS’ers Toronto FC.

Islanders drop another one in Vancouver

The Islanders rested Gaudette and Arrieta, to save them for the Toronto FC game this week; and survived a halftime thunderstorm delay to drop their 2nd game this season in Vancouver, this time 4-2 for the Whitecaps.
Kyle Veris had an own goal in the 51st minute for the 2nd Vancouver goal.
